Terms of Service
Effective date: August 1, 2026
This page is a current draft. We have published it so you can read our terms before you buy, instead of finding a blank page. It has not been through legal review, and we expect to update it. If anything here is unclear, or you think we have got something wrong, email [email protected] and a person will answer you.
Who we are
The calientejerky.com store is owned and operated by Caliente Brands, LLC, an Alabama company with operations in Montgomery and Birmingham. You can reach us at [email protected].
What these terms cover
These terms cover orders placed on calientejerky.com for your own use. Wholesale and retail-partner orders are not covered here — those run on the pricing and terms we agree with each partner directly. If you would like to carry Caliente in your store, get in touch and we will talk it through.
Ordering
Prices are in US dollars. You will see the price on the product page and again in your cart before you pay. We may change prices, and we may add, change or stop selling a product at any time. Anything marked “coming soon” is not on sale yet.
Once in a while we may not be able to fill an order — an item sells out, or a price goes up on the site by mistake. If that happens we will contact you, and if you have already paid for that order we will refund it in full.
Paying
Card payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number. Payment is taken when you place your order.
Any sales tax that applies is worked out at checkout and shown in your total before you pay.
Shipping and delivery
We ship to addresses in the United States only. We do not ship internationally: meat products are restricted or prohibited at most borders.
Depending on your address, checkout may also offer local delivery in Montgomery County, Alabama, or pickup in person. When your order ships we send tracking information to the email address on the order.
We cannot promise a delivery date. Once a package is with the carrier, how fast it moves is out of our hands — but if a delivery goes wrong, we want to hear about it. See the next section.
Perishable food, returns and problems
Our jerky and meat sticks are food, and food is perishable. Once an order has left us we cannot take food back and we cannot resell it, so we are not able to offer change-of-mind returns on food items.
That does not mean you are stuck with a bad order. If your order turns up damaged, spoiled, incomplete, or it is not what you ordered, email [email protected] as soon as you notice, with your order number and a photo if you can take one. Please hold on to the item and its packaging until you hear back from us. We will look at what happened and put it right.
We have not fixed a returns window or a set remedy, and we would rather tell you that than publish a number we are not sure of. We look at these one at a time, and our intention is to sort it out rather than argue about it.
Merchandise that is not food, such as caps, is a different situation. Contact us and we will work it out with you.
Product information and allergies
We describe our flavors and heat levels as carefully as we can, and a photo on a screen will never match the real thing exactly. The packaging is the authority on ingredients, allergens, nutrition and best-by dates. Please read it before you eat, especially if you have a food allergy or are feeding someone who does. If you have a question about what is in a product, ask us before you order.
Your account
If you create an account on our site, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into it.
Using our site
Please use the site for what it is for: browsing and buying jerky. The Caliente name, our logo, our product photos and the text on these pages belong to us, and you may not copy them for commercial use without asking us first.
Your privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you order and what we do with it.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page as our policies settle. The version that applies to your order is the one published here when you place it, and the effective date at the top tells you when this version went up.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.
